A collision occurred late on Thursday, February 8th, involving a 16-year-old pedestrian and a car at a pedestrian crossing in Schaffhausen city, as reported by the local police. The teenager sustained injuries, and the vehicle involved suffered material damage.

The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. near Seidenhof on Hochstrasse in Schaffhausen. While a car had stopped at the pedestrian crossing to allow a pedestrian to cross from the right side, a 73-year-old driver approaching from the opposite direction failed to notice the young pedestrian, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicle. The impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown approximately two meters into the air before landing on the street. Emergency medical services then transported the injured 16-year-old to the hospital for treatment.

The collision inflicted material damage on the involved car, estimated to be several hundred francs. A private salvage company was subsequently called to remove the damaged vehicle from the scene.
