Local DJ Fatally Shot at Chiefs Victory Rally, Radio Station Confirms
Kansas City radio personality Lisa Lopez-Galvan tragically lost her life in a fatal shooting at the Chiefs’ victory rally, confirmed by KKFI radio 90.1 FM.
KKFI shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing deep sorrow over Lopez-Galvan’s passing. While local authorities have not yet disclosed specifics about the incident, the community mourns her loss.
“Lisa was one of our valued programmers/DJs… her dedication to KKFI and our community was unparalleled,” said Kelly Dougherty, KKFI’s director of development and communications, in an email to CNN.
Lopez-Galvan, known for her passion for music, believed in its ability to bring joy, as stated in her station bio. Prior to her role on Taste of Tejano, she served as a bilingual private DJ for more than 15 years.
During the Super Bowl celebration parade, multiple family members of Lopez-Galvan were among those injured, adding to the tragedy.
