Samsung has unveiled its latest mid-range Android smartphones, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35, scheduled to hit the markets in the coming months.

Continuing the legacy of Samsung’s successful smartphone lineups, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 boast familiar designs with upgraded specifications.

In terms of core features, both devices share similarities. They sport 6.6-inch FHD+ SuperAMOLED displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, run on Android 14 out of the box, and pack powerful 5,000 mAh batteries. However, they differ in memory and camera configurations.

The Galaxy A55, positioned as the higher-end model, offers superior camera capabilities. It features a 50MP primary camera, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro camera, along with a 32MP front-facing camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy A35 comes with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 13MP front camera.

Another point of distinction lies in memory and storage options. The base variant of the Galaxy A55 boasts 8GB of RAM with storage options of 128GB or 256GB, while a higher-tier variant offers 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35‘s base model offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with additional variants featuring 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Samsung has not officially confirmed the chipsets powering these devices, though it’s speculated that the Galaxy A55 will feature the Exynos 1480 chipset and the Galaxy A35 will run on the Exynos 1380.

Both smartphones adhere to Samsung’s commitment to software updates, promising four years of major Android updates and five years of security updates. This aligns with Samsung’s dedication to providing extended support for its devices, with only the Galaxy S24 series offering a longer seven-year update period.

While Samsung has not provided specific release dates for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35, these devices are expected to launch globally within the next month or two.
